BGC plans to set high quality standards for addressing issues of gambling addiction adequately and further, to help operators in building consumer and public trust in the industry; where Simmonds seems to be having a good experience in the industry, it can be safely assumed that the new body will cater to the interest of both operators as well as with the players and will be able to develop a profitable relationship between the key players.
When asked about the new role at the Chair of BGC, Simmonds replied to a local news
“I am excited to be joining the Betting and Gaming Council as its first chair,” she said. “The gambling industry is a hugely significant contributor to the leisure industry and to the economy. "I will be listening to all stakeholders to ensure that the Betting and Gaming Council is leading the industry in identifying effective measures to protect customers.
“I firmly believe the UK regulated gambling industry should be recognised as the world-leading industry in terms of safer gambling.”
