Bet365 enters Mexican market in partnership with TV Azteca

Bet365, a top sports betting company based in the UK enters into the Mexican market in association with with ‘Ganador Azteca’, the gambling subsidiary of Mexican national broadcaster TV Azteca. In 2018, Ganador was established with the aim to develop gaming and sports betting industry in Mexico. They acquired a casino license last year to establish a gaming property in the Yanga province in the state of Veracruz. Interestingly, this licence expands to online gambling and thus enables Ganador to partner with the UK based bookmaker bet365. As per the sports betting laws of Mexico, both bet365 and Ganador Azteca can operate individually and can collect bets through various domains or internet sites. Bet365's Mexican market domain shall be bet365.mx and is officially launched.

It is pertinent to mention here that doing online or internet based business in Latin America is not easy and it has its own share of complications. Certain Challenges in Latin America are evident and unavoidable such as the problem of internet and banking. Internet as well as banking is not as consistently as widespread as it needs to be for them to thrive. Only half of all Mexicans with internet have a valid bank card, so that gives you an idea of the current infrastructure. However, the expectation is that internet access and banking will continue to grow rapidly over the next decade.

Nevertheless, a revamp of gambling laws will likely see the federal government clash with Mexican regional executives, who at present hold ‘provincial autonomy’ on regulating gambling services and tax collections.
